About the Conference

With its nearly 20-years of experience and professional background the Association for Women’s Career Development in Hungary decided to address the impact of the pandemic on women, especially the impact on the labor market.

Therefore, we are pleased that together with our professional  partners from the V4 countries, the Pedagogical University of Krakow from Poland,  the Business & Professional Women CR z.s. from the Czech Republic, and the  Association of Business Women from the Slovak Republic, we have the opportunity to implement the “WomenFamilies, Careers – Effects of the Pandemic on Work/Life Balance in the Visegrad countries” project  (between October 2021 and April 2022)  thanks to the support of the Visegrad Fund.

Our Hungarian partner organizations are the Családbarát Magyarország Központ (Family Friendly Hungary Center), the Hungarian Red Cross, the National Association of Large Families – NOE, and the Women Entrepreneurs’ Club of the Győr-Moson-Sopron County Chamber of Commerce.

We are organizing the Multiplying Event / International Conference titled “Women, Families, Careers – Effects of the Pandemic on Work/Life Balance in the Visegrad Countries” in Budapest on 8th March 2022, on Women’s Day, with the participation of our V4 and Hungarian Partners.

At the multiplying event we will present our research based on the electronic survey carried out simultaneously in the V4 countries in November-December 2021 and on the focus group interviews conducted in each country during December 2021 and January 2022.

Within the framework of our Project, we have examined the impact of the pandemic on four special groups of women (mothers with children, women who are planning a family, women over 50, and rural women), with relation to the labour market.

Our V4 Partners will present their research carried out in their countries.

Within the framework of the Stakeholder Forum, we will share knowledge, experiences, and good practices within our partnership and with our stakeholders.

Based on our research, credible experts, and good practices in the context of the V4 countries on the topic, we hope to provide a well-founded background for decision makers regarding the impact of the pandemic on women, in particular with relation to the labour market.

Information for participants

The conference will be organized in hybrid form including the relevant target groups, stakeholders, and decision makers through the network of our partnership.

We welcome participants from the V4 countries, from the EU countries and the West Balkan countries. By streaming the conference online, participation will be open for everyone in the world during the conference, and after the conference we will put the recording on YouTube.

Since our foundation we have organized more than 45 international conferences as well as many meetings and workshops. We all are missing life events and therefore we are very much looking forward to meeting our old and new guests in person on 8 March 2022.

We will do everything on the spot for the safety of the participants, we will keep social distance and will provide hand sanitizer.

Nevertheless, as a positive benefit of the coronavirus, we have learned how advances in technology bring people closer in the world and how we can provide wider international reach.

The conference can be joined also online by registered participants in English:
